The Rangers have now lost four of their last games and two of those have come in the past two days as the Rangers dropped two of three to the White Sox. Things started off well enough on Tuesday with an 8-1 win. Robinson Tejada threw a very nice game and he gave up just one run on three hits and four walks in seven innings of work. The win pushed his record to 2-1. In the meantime, the Rangers hit three big homeruns to account for all eight of their runs. Ian Kinlser and Sammy Sosa hit three run shots while Brad Wilkerson put the Rangers on the board with a two run shot in the fifth.
It went downhill from there. Kevin Millwood was hit hard and the Rangers were the victims of Mark Buehrle’s no hitter on Wednesday. Yesterday’s game was a tad closer and the Rangers had the game tied as late as the eighth inning but three runs off of Scott Feldman cost the Rangers the win. Sammy Sosa hit homerun number four and Sosa was the only Ranger to finish with two hits.
So the bad news is, the Rangers are in last place, tied with the Angels of all teams. The good news is, they’re only two games back and they play three this weekend against the first place Athletics. Brandon McCarthy will throw tonight and it’d be nice if he could get us off to a good start in this series.
