This game was tough.  The Rangers had this one a couple of different times and let the game slip through their fingers.  They had a three run lead in the eighth, a two run lead in the ninth and then a two run lead in the tenth and all of those leads went by the wayside.

Washington was also out managed in this game.  He didn’t set his pen up and it came back to haunt him.  Derek Holland shouldn’t have been pulled and it went downhill from there.

Mike Napoli had another big game.  He went two for three with an RBI and three walks.  Josh Hamilton also came up big and he went three for six with three RBIs and two runs.  Adrian Beltre, Nelson Cruz and Josh Hamilton all belted home runs in the loss.

So it now goes to a winner take all game seven.  I’m thinking Chris Carpenter throws in the finale on short rest and it’ll be Matt Harrison throwing for the Rangers.  May the best team win.

The Rangers are now just one win away from their World Series ever.  C.J. Wilson got off to a rough start but he settled in and the pen picked him up.  He gave up two runs in the second but fortunately that’s all that the Cardinals got.  Mitch Moreland hit a solo home run in the third to cut the lead in half.  Then in the sixth, Adrian Beltre tied the game up with a solo home run.  Then in the bottom of the eighth, Mike Napoli struck again and he doubled home two runs that proved to be the game winners.

C.J. Wilson gave up the two runs on four hits and five walks with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.  Scott Feldman, Alexi Ogando, Darren Oliver and Neftali Feliz then all shut out the Cardinals the rest of the way for the win.

Now the scene moves back to St. Louis.  The Rangers are one win away from their first World Series.  Colby Lewis will get the ball in that one.

Derek Holland came up big and the Rangers now head into their final game in Arlington tied 2-2.  Holland pitched into the ninth and he gave up just two hits with two walks and seven strikeouts.  Neftali Feliz pitched and got the final two outs to end the game.

Josh Hamilton put the Rangers on the board with an RBI double in the first inning.  Neither team would score again until Mike Napoli hit a three run home run in the sixth inning to make it 4-0.

Game five is tomorrow and man is this one huge.  Chris Carpenter throws on short rest and C.J. Wilson throws for the Cardinals.  I’m not going to say the winner of this game wins the series but it’s going to go a long way.

Okay, I’m going to keep this one short because this one was ugly.  The Rangers threw six pitchers and they all at least gave up a run.  Matt Harrison gave up five and Alexi Ogando gave up four in his worst outing of the post season.

The Rangers did get some runs in this one.  Adrian Beltre had a huge game and he went four for five with two runs and an RBI.  Nelson Cruz hit his seventh home run of the post season and Michael Young belted a solo home run.

The Rangers need to tie this one back up so hopefully tomorrow will be another day.  Derek Holland gets the start tomorrow and Edwin Jackson goes for the Cardinals.

The Rangers evened up the World Series behind some great pitching.  The Cardinals managed just a single run on six hits and it was a combination of the starter and relievers that got it all done.  Colby Lewis gave up the one run on four hits with two walks with four strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.  Alexi Ogando got the Rangers out of the seventh and then Mike Adams and Neftali Feliz threw shutout innings each to close out the game.

The Rangers didn’t score until the ninth but they got it done.  Josh Hamilton tied up the game with a sac. fly and then Michael Young followed that up with another sac. fly to give the Rangers the lead in the 2-1 win.

The series heads back to Texas now and we’re even up.  Kyle Lohse throws for the Cardinals and Matt Harrison throws for the Rangers.

The Rangers dropped their first World Series game against the Cardinals in a solid pitcher’s duel.  The Cardinals went on the board in the fourth with two runs but the Rangers answered in the fifth with a two run home run by Mike Napoli.  Unfortunately the Cardinals scored a run in the sixth and that proved to be the game winner.

Wilson gave up all three runs before he yielded to the pen.  Alexi Ogando, Mike Gonzalez, and Scott Feldman held the Cardinals scoreless after that but it wasn’t enough in the 3-2 loss.

Adrian Beltre went two for four with a run. Ian Kinsler also had a pair of hits.

Game two is tomorrow.  It’ll be Colby Lewis going up against Jaime Garcia.

The Rangers took care of the Tigers and with the win, they’ll be in the World Series for the second straight year.  Things weren’t looking good because the Tigers scored runs in the first and second but then the Rangers busted the game open with nine runs in the third.  This game was ugly after that and the final was 15-5.

Derek Holland didn’t pitch long enough to get the win.  Alexi Ogando got that with two shutout innings.  In those later innings though, pitching was just a formality.

So congratulations to the Rangers.  They’ll either be traveling to Milwaukee or St. Louis in game one but that series may not be done for a couple of days.

Well, I guess you’re allowed to have a stinker every once in a while and if you do it when you have a 3-1 lead, it’s somewhat limits the damage.  Josh Hamilton put the Rangers on the board with a sac. fly in the first inning but then it went down hill from there.  Alex Avila tied it up with a solo home run and then Delmon Young gave the Tigers the lead with a solo homer in the fourth.  Josh Hamilton struck again and tied it up with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.

The Rangers then gave up four runs in the sixth and that was the difference.  The Rangers did score the final three runs but that only made it a two run game (7-5).

C.J. Wilson gave up most of the damage with six runs.  Koji Uehara also gave up a run.  Game six will be on Saturday and it’ll be Derek Holland going to against Max Scherzer.

The Rangers are one win away from their second straight World Series appearance with an eleventh inning win over the Tigers.  Miguel Cabrera doubled home two runs in the third to open up the scoring.  Then in the sixth, the Rangers answered with three runs.  Ian Kinsler doubled home a run and Elvis Andrus and Michael Young both singled home runs.  Brandon Inge hit a solo home run in the seventh and then the game eventually went into extra frames.  Mike Napoli had the game winner with an RBI single but everyone will remember the three run home run by Nelson Cruz that put this game away.

Matt Harrison was good enough through five innings and Alexi Ogando gave up a run but the rest of the pen really got it done.  Mike Adams, Darren Oliver, Scott Feldman and Neftali Feliz all threw shutout frames to finish up the game.

The Rangers can wrap things out before even getting back to Texas.  The sooner the better.

This one got off to a good start but Doug Fister was very good as the Rangers fell to a 2-1 lead in the ALCS.  Josh Hamilton singled home Ian Kinsler in the first.  Victor Martinez then belted a solo home run in the fourth inning to tie it.  Miguel Cabrera then gave the Tigers the lead in the fifth with an RBI double.  The Tigers added a few more and while the Rangers put one more on the board it wasn’t enough in the 5-2 loss.

Colby Lewis gave up four runs in 5 2/3 innings.  Koji Uehara gave up another run and while the rest of the pen did well enough, it wasn’t enough.

Game four is tomorrow and while it’s easy to call each one a big one, if the Rangers can take a 3-1 lead it’d be huge.
