The Rangers got it done again with their sixth straight win to end the regular season. It gives them 96 on the season and that’s one better then the Detroit Tigers so they’ll face the Rays and start at home come Friday. Matt Harrison was solid through six innings and he gave up just one run on five hits. Mike Adams picked up the win with a shutout eighth and Neftali Perez pitched a shutout ninth to pick up his 32nd save of the season.
Mike Napoli drove in all three runs in this one. He hit a solo shot in the second inning then his two run shot in the ninth gave the Rangers the win. That gave him 30 on the season in a nice year.
Now it’s all sites ahead to the first round of the playoffs. These five game series can always be stressful because of how things can swing so quickly. The key is to at least split those first two games. Going down 0-2 is tough but I like the Rangers chances.
