Rangers Cling to First Place

by @ 12:48 pm. Filed under 2011 Rangers

The Rangers had a nice lead but they’ve been playing .500 ball the past couple of weeks and the Angels have caught fire.  They did take two of three against Houston and playing them a couple of series these days is nice.  It’s also nice to have the interleague games going because that’s always an easier way to sell more Rangers tickets.

The finale wasn’t pretty though as Wandy Rodriguez held the Rangers in check.  Four hits isn’t going to cut it and the only Ranger to reach base more then once was Elvis Andrus who had two singles and a walk. He also stole number 24.

Matt Harrison had a tough go.  He gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts.  Arthur Rhodes was the only hurler to go unscathed with his shutout ninth.

Next up the Marlins.  They’re cold so I like this as well.
